MEV Originals has been in business since 1995. My roots started in tjet racing
back in the early 70s which grow into collecting in the early 80s to
tjet body
repair in the early 90s to serious resin casting where we are today. Our goal
is to introduce only high quality 'never before made' tjet models as often as we
can. These are cars "Aurora would have been proud of". The scales
range from 1/72 to about 1/80 (each one is about 2.5 inches long). which is
considered 'HO' in the slot car world.
Our products take many hours of work before they
enter production. Accuracy and proportion is carefully focused upon. The
following describes our products:
All Vehicles:
- Made using a high
quality Epoxy Resin with color 'pre-mixed' in.
- Exterior finish is
extremely glossy and completely 'pit'/'bubble'/'mold line' free
- Colors are vibrant
and rich
- Surface hardness
rates high at an '85' (just like tjets .. can not be scratched by a
fingernail)
- Vehicles are
lightweight and the 'inside' is set up like a tjet with defined reinforced
screwposts
- Screwposts have
screws 'worked-in' already (no tapping!)
- Windshields are
made from vacuformed .030 (tjet thickness but much more durable) plastic
and are extremely clear.
- Bodies fit a tjet chassis
accurately with NO cutting of the chassis or body necessary
Racer Series (Rcr)
also have:
- Unfinished option =
Car body needs minimal flashing (removal of extra plastic incurred during
casting). Window (if applicable) will be pre-flashed .. you just need
to glue it in place.
- Finished option =
Car is race ready with window (if applicable) installed and small detail
work painted.
- Extra plastic above
the rear well wheels to keep body integrity even after cutting the wells
American Street
Vehicles -Kits- (when available) contain:
- Unfinished
trans-white colored unflashed body with screw holes 'drilled'
- Bumpers molded in
gray
- Production
windshield
- 2 screws
Assembled American Street
Vehicles also have:
- Hinged boxes with
retro id card that can be used in classic tjet boxes
- Bumpers for
vehicles are chrome simulated separately and then attached to the vehicle
Assembled Vehicle detailing:
- Vehicles with large
detailed areas use a 'stencil system' to paint these areas which provides a
'clean' paint edge
- Taillights and
small details are hand painted
Recommended Chassis Options:
- Original Pancake Aurora chassis
- Original Dash chassis
- Jag DK-4 (slight mod needed to accomodate front brace)
- TFX chassis
Decals:
- Decals are printed
on an ALPS printer (dry ink printer with white and gold color options) at
600 dpi and then sealed
- If we apply the
decals .. they are sealed after application using 'Future' acrylic floor wax
